University of Idaho EEO Specialist Location: Moscow, Off Campus Location - In person in Moscow, Idaho is preferred. Remote work may considered. Division/College: Office of General Counsel Employee Category: Classified Pay Range: $28.00 per hour or higher depending on experience FTE: 1 Full/Part Time: Full Time Position Summary: The EEO Specialist assists the Director, Employee Development and Workforce Diversity in the development, monitoring and coordination of EEO/AA functions of the University of Idaho. This position independently performs a variety of professional-level tasks including: - Providing guidance to hiring managers, search committees and unit equal opportunity/affirmative action coordinators
- Ensuring fair and equitable process through routine review and audit of employment actions
- Interpreting, communicating and applying federal and state regulations/guidelines and university policy to recruitment and selection processes
- Designing and delivering training and resource materials to various university groups and assisting with compiling data for various EEO/AA compliance related reports
Minimum Qualifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three years experience in human resources or recruitment and hiring or equal opportunity/affirmative action compliance
- Experience maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
- Experience working effectively with and creating/maintaining effective relationships with a variety of community members. This includes the ability to problem solve, exercise good judgement and maintain a professional and personable demeanor
- Experience with discretionary decision making, independent problem solving and working closely and constructively with a wide variety of community members
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, human resource management, communication, human relations, or education
- Experience in three (3) or more of the following areas: recruitment, classification, compensation, training and development, equal employment and affirmative action, reasonable accommodation, Fair Labor Standards Act
- Ability to learn and apply equal opportunity and affirmative action guidelines, principles and practices
- Demonstrated experience explaining and applying equal employment and affirmative action guidelines, principles and practices
- Experience operating a personal computer and related word processing, spreadsheet and database software
- Experience with applicant tracking systems
- Experience managing and improving complex administrative processes
- Experience developing reports on recruitment and hiring metrics, analyzing the findings and using that analysis to improve future operations
