**Director, Global Alumni Community Engagement, Stanford Alumni Association**
The Stanford Alumni Association (SAA) has a mission to reach, serve, and engage all 240,000+ Stanford alumni and students; to foster a lifelong intellectual and emotional connection between the university and its graduates; and to provide the university with goodwill and support. SAA produces a wide array of offerings and programming to connect Stanford alumni, ranging from events such as Reunion Homecoming, to a wide range of volunteer opportunities, to creating content, including STANFORD magazine, and providing travel opportunities, including the Stanford Travel/Study and Stanford Sierra Camp programs.
**Position Summary** **:**
Managing the Global Alumni Community Engagement team of nine (4 direct reports and 5 indirect reports), the Director of Global Alumni Community Engagement (GACE) provides leadership on new and current alumni relations programs and projects. With an emphasis on driving our alumni communities platforms (including geographic, shared identity, and professional communities) and regional programs, this role leads the development of strategies, delivery, and evaluation of quality programming to fulfill the Stanford Alumni Association's mission to reach, serve, and engage all Stanford alumni. This role reports to the Chief Alumni Relations Officer, and will be a part of the SAA Ad Council, the leadership team at SAA.
**Job Purpose** **:**
Provide leadership on new and current alumni relations programs and projects for the GACE department. Develop strategies for and across alumni relations departments, conduct program evaluation and marketing analysis, link strategies to business and departmental objective, with a goal of providing quality engagement opportunities for Stanford's alumni.
**Core Duties** **:**
+ Manage operations of the Global Alumni Community Engagement team.
+ Manage, recruit, coach and develop staff providing them with supervision, guidance and mentoring in goal setting, performance management,skill building and professional growth.
+ Set data-driven departmental budget, goals, and objectives in alignment with organizational goals.
+ Develop strategic department plans, policies, and procedures for alumni programs and events that enhance the university's reputation and visibility.
+ Using data, evaluate and monitor trends for effectiveness of activities and segments.
+ Provide leadership and support on issues/projects related to university alumni initiatives.
+ Design, implement, and run new programs as needed.
+ Collaborate with campus partners.
**Minimum Requirements** **:**
+ Bachelor's degree and seven or more years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
+ Excellent management skills, including coaching and developing staff.
+ Experience working with cross-functional teams.
+ Strong track record as relationship builder and collaborator.
+ Strong ability to understand alumni needs, show good judgment and diplomacy, and a high tolerance for ambiguity.
+ Willingness to jump in and be hands on in program execution as needed.
+ Strong interpersonal, team and leadership skills; tact and flexibility in working with diverse population groups.
+ Excellent strategic, organizational and project management skills and the ability to simultaneously plan and execute multiple projects.
+ Experience making data-informed decisions and crafting creative solutions.
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively with decision makers across many levels of an organization.
+ Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
+ Constantly perform desk-based tasks.
+ Frequently stand/walk, sit.
+ Occasionally grasp forcefully, use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
+ Rarely writing by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts.
**The expected pay range for this position is $170,115 per annum to $190,000 per annum.**
