Alaska Sea Grant, a program of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, is seeking a dynamic and skilled Communications Specialist to join our team. The Communications Specialist will play a vital role in raising awareness of the program’s research, education, and outreach initiatives, as well as building strong relationships with stakeholders, researchers, policymakers, and the public.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the mission of Alaska Sea Grant through strategic communication that highlights the work and impact of the program in the state of Alaska and beyond.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marine science, fisheries, environmental science, natural resource management, or a related field.
Position Details:
This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks or remote within the state of Alaska. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 79, based on education and experience.
